Aperio is a reality
As a member of ASSA ABLOY’s Future Lab, you were invited to participate in developing a new technology for wireless access control. Thanks to your suggestions and input in every stage of the development process, Aperio is now being rolled out.
This exciting new technology is designed to complement existing electronic access control systems. It has been developed around an open standard and is easily integrated with most units and systems, regardless of the manufacturer.
Aperio enables end users to expand their existing access control systems with additional doors. And since doors do not need to be exchanged, it is cost efficient – exactly what you asked for.
Christophe Sut, ASSA ABLOY’s Director of Wireless Lock Platform, Shared Technologies, says that the Aperio development team relied heavily on input from industry players. “We took into account all of the survey feedback when developing Aperio, such as finding a way to keep costs down, ensuring low battery consumption and supporting existing RFID technologies.”
He admits that without such feedback, the team might have taken another direction. “Instead, this new technology is really based on what customers want and what can be achieved today. A big thanks to all who participated!” ´
