Why we are digitizing

The Internet of Things and the digitization of our industry is having a huge impact on ASSA ABLOY. The need for employees with new knowledge and experience has risen sharply within the company. But this transformation also calls for new ways of working and being open to working with new partners. These times emphasize the need for clear goals and remembering why we are digitizing. http://futurelab.assaabloy.com/en/why-we-are-digitizing/

Listening to the Voice of the Customer

How can you understand customer needs and increase benefits of new products? ASSA ABLOY is using Voice of Customer (VoC) exercises to do just that. Customer interaction can consist of one-on-one customer interviews, observational studies and conference-style events. VOC exercises have helped ASSA ABLOY identify barriers, evaluate processes and identify solutions to the next generation of security needs. http://futurelab.assaabloy.com/en/listening-to-the-voice-of-the-customer/

Enhancing the user’s door experience

ASSA ABLOY asked students at Stockholm’s KTH Royal Institute of Technology to put their imaginations to work to enhance the user experience in a door. The activity generated a number of innovative ideas, proving that doors can be used for so much more than opening and closing. Interactive doors that welcome shoppers, hinges that harvest energy, NFC post-it-like notes that enable anonymous communication between neighbors – or why not use doors as a creative space for kids to doodle? http://futurelab.assaabloy.com/en/enhancing-the-users-door-experience/

Bringing new products to life

ASSA ABLOY Shared Technologies develop platform technologies to be integrated in ASSA ABLOY group company products. Thinking outside the box is encouraged at Shared Technologies where developing innovative solutions for sustainable energy, wireless connectivity, software and identification are part of the daily routine. The Future Lab visited the R&D team during the “Innovation Day” where employees have 24 hours to brainstorm and come up with creative ideas for new products or improvements to existing ones. http://futurelab.assaabloy.com/en/bringing-new-products-to-life/
